North Texas: Corporate Challenge

We Mean Business

The City of Richardson’s Parks and Recreation Department created the Corporate Challenge in 1997 with the support of volunteers and BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. The 10-week, Olympics-style tournament held each Fall pits Dallas-Fort Worth businesses and organizations against each other in as many as 25 athletic and non-athletic events. It may be a competition, but all teams have one universal goal: raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Texas.

Since 2011, employees at Pioneer’s corporate headquarters in Las Colinas have advanced the Company three divisions and have been recognized by the Challenge for their exemplary team spirit as they defend the first-place title. Spouses and retirees participate as well, promoting camaraderie, philanthropy and wellness throughout the year for all organizations involved.

Pioneer’s fundraising game plan includes a “Wear-Your-Jeans Wednesdays” campaign, which encourages employees to donate cash in exchange for a mid-week day of wearing jeans to work.
