United Way chapters across the country invest in improving the education, financial stability and health of families and individuals in targeted communities by partnering with local non-profit agencies for the greatest impact. The organization empowers residents to reach out and help their neighbors in need, and it has inspired Pioneer employees to do the same.
Each year, Pioneer’s corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas, hosts an internal campaign to raise money for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and the United Way of Tarrant County. Employees give generously and even find friendly competition in an in-office racing event that raises additional funds when employees pit their homemade, food-constructed model cars (an homage to one of United Way’s agencies, Meals on Wheels) against each other in a race to the finish line. What’s more, Pioneer Natural Resources matches every dollar employees pledge and raise for an even greater donation to United Way chapters.
In 2013, the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas recognized Pioneer’s unique and positive campaign practices with its prestigious Trendsetter Award. The honor is humbling as Pioneer only seeks to help enrich the communities’ quality of life and, as the United Way says, “live united” through giving, advocacy and volunteerism.
At the helm of Pioneer’s success is a knowledgeable and experienced management team and Board of Directors.
